Found in Karstium Province, the Valley Of Sorrows is an area of deep gashes, ditches and ruins where some of the most violent battles in the history of The Frontier have been fought.
The Valley Of Sorrows holds a deep connection to the kamuni, whose decaying temples and shrines scar the landscape. Many kamuni have been killed in the area over the centuries and all that remains are the ruins, but it’s also a place of remembrance and a testament to the resiliency of the kamuni who still walk the land.
Local folklore
A lot of the folklore of the Valley of Sorrows is tied to kamuni culture. The Valley is the site of one of the most bloody battles during the second Kamuni Uprising and people believe that many of the souls who lost their lives are restless. Reports of ghostly figures wandering in the night are common stories shared by travellers who pass through the area and aren’t in any hurry to return.
Kamuni choose to remember the bravery of their ancestors and one story shared between settlements is the tale of Kiasha, the daughter of a chieftain who single-handedly battled and slayed thirty frontiersmen soldiers during the second Kamuni Uprising.
Another kamuni story is linked to a temple called Fata Li Anum, which is said to only appear to true knowledge seekers who’re willing to do whatever it takes to reach their goals. Some kamuni speak favourably of the place, others see it as a cursed path that will only lead to more sorrow.
