Dear Frontier Traveller,
When navigating through certain parts of the land, it’d handy to know what to expect from the local animals and monsters.
If you happen to be travelling through provinces like Robuck and Deepstead, you’re going to come up against a lot of swamps.
A monster to look out for in these areas is the shellycoat. It gets its name from the growth of shells that come from its back. Using the shells as method of camouflage, shellycoats will sneak up on their prey and also hide from bigger predators.
While usually harmless to humans, shellycoats become aggressive when threatened.
Stay well away and don’t go grabbing at random herbs in the water. You never know if you’re pulling out the hair of a shellycoat.
